About Me /
Exploring insights via people's experiences
How I got involved...
Before starting college, I tried to use graphic or branding design to communicate a voice for society through visuals and to solve unmet needs. Later as I studied at SVA in 2019, I learned about product design, which enables people to more clearly explain complicated concepts and more immediately address the issues we face every day.
When quarantine hit at the start of 2020, I started studying and researching UX/UI, and this passionate opportunity stemmed from my desire to increase the community's shortage of creative options.
I got the opportunity to intern at China's leading online platform Tencent in the summer of 2021, which gave me a deeper idea of the value that a team of product designers can bring to the table.
Later when I was back in school, I joined a startup financial company Ziggurat in 2022 and built various features to assist users, which helped me better grasp the value that companies with varied starting points in different industries contribute to world. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute a little to the community and society through the power of design in the form of product design.
Beyond design
Where I'm from
I grew up in Tianjin, China, where I was born and raised as a curious kid who loved to discover the world through the people and the community. I spent every summer in Korea because my family is half Korean and half Chinese. I relocated to Waterloo, Canada when I was 15 to attend high school, and I currently live in New York City. I enjoy overcoming new challenges and embracing variety in a multicultural environment.
